I happened across an epic trailer for Blizzard Entertainment’s new Heroes of the Storm MOBA that I just had to share. Check it out below!
If that doesn’t get your blood pumping, you needn’t continue reading.
Heroes of the Storm
We’ve been waiting years for Project Titan, but it would seem Blizzard is unable to craft a new IP capable of standing alongside their three renowned franchises – Diablo, StarCraft and Warcraft. As a result, they’ve gone ahead and mashed all three franchises together into a new brawler/MOBA game titled, Heroes of the Storm (HotS).
Regardless of your preferred franchise and the lore continuity of how all three ‘universes’ collide, Blizzard’s larger-than-life heroes and villains have all ended up in an arena for players to battle it out to the death. With a cooperative style game-play similar to the popular MOBA League of Legends, Blizzard anticipates shifting the focus away from itemization and toward teamwork and map objectives.
Heroes of the Storm was first announced on November 8, 2013 at Blizzard’s [somewhat] annual BlizzCon event. Since BlizzCon, we’ve seen an occasional update and new artwork, but no noteworthy news regarding a beta or launch date. Take a moment to view the official cinematic launch trailer below, as well as some gameplay footage from BlizzCon 2013.
If you haven’t already, register for the Heroes of the Storm beta at heroesofthestorm.com for your chance to play it before all your friends. Stay tuned here for more HotS updates.
Oh, and below are some more goodies. Until then, good luck and have fun!
